PA Heritage Wrap Up

Results are posted HERE

Great weekend! Thanks everybody who came out to compete or help us out and those who came out to watch. It was a great show, we had some good competition on the course with Andrew Fish taking the win with an incredible three consecutive rounds under 60 – all on the long layout. We had a fun round of doubles on Thursday. A tight round of mini disc on a 9 hole course laid out around the recreation building and a putting contest and long drive competition in the afternoon on Friday. Saturday we woke to find the small creeks that run through the course had over-run the banks in the deluge of rain and thunderstorms that ripped through overnight. Quick repairs were made to the OB ropes to get them staked back in the ground. We had a tree down across the fairway on #2. Travis Morret got out early with a chainsaw, cleared the tree and removed all the debris before anyone arrived. Travis then went on to win the Advanced division – congratulations and thank you! Saturday night we had a nice relaxed PA Disc Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony – well most of us were relaxed, Lancaster’s own Hall of Famer had two flat tires on his way to the event and had to be retrieved by his LAFS buddies. It was a great dinner spread put out by our Hall of Fame crew Laura Ford with lots of help from a host of volunteers from the area disc golf community. By Sunday the course had dried a bit and weather was amazing – cool and cloudy with a slight breeze to start the day and slightly warmer and sunnier by the afternoon. The day concluded in the recreation building for the awards ceremony and where the left-overs from the night before were served. That was very much appreciated! Congratulations to all the winners and we hope everyone had some fun!

PA Heritage Starts Thursday 8/3!

We’ve got the start of the event coming up in just a few day and the Coyotes have been going crazy on the course and it really looks amazing – we can’t wait to show it off.  Event details can be found on the Heritage Page or on the Coyote Hills DGC page on Facebook

We’ve got a busy week ahead, PA Disc Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Field Competitions, Big-Dog Doubles….It’s going to be a blast!

Dan Rad, our Coyote Captain (and co-TD) for the event has poured an unbelievable amount of time and effort into getting the course to look as good as it does, huge thanks to Dan for his dedication to making this a special event. Steve Alspaugh, the senior Coyote himself has been a fixture at the course since it opened but he too has been working at the course everyday for the past few weeks. Dan Zechman, Travis Morret, Kevin Lazaroff, and Josh Myers have been doing the yeomans work just about everyday – stumps don’t remove themselves you know! But seriously – digging, raking, pouring cement, making stairs – these guys are the hardest working crew I’ve ever stood around and watched. Myself and Earl Frazier did some computer junk and I did plenty of mowing and weed whacking. Thanks to Donna Greist, Gary Meredith and Nate who stepped up and volunteered when we needed  them – we love you guys!

Preparing for the PA Heritage

The Coyotes have been working hard getting the course in shape to host the PA Heritage A-Tier. We’ve got new long position tee boxes being poured this week – the tee boxes have been in place and filled with stone for the past couple weeks.  We’ve cut the fairways and removed stumps, trimmed and mowed, picked and pruned everything we could find for the past week or so but we’re not done yet. We’ve also got new Innova flags installed atop all the baskets we’ll be playing in August. The place is really looking great!

There are still a few ways you can get in on the action. There are two more qualifier events in July:

OR

Come to Coyote Hills DGC on Thursday August 3rd and earn your spot at the last chance Qualifier.  This will be a great way to get a practice round in, see the course layout and be a part of this event.
